You may think of Simple Plan as yelpy pop rock, but these guys are scarily good at embodying whatever kind of sound they like. On their new album, that would be … yelpy, bombastic pop rock. The guitars are huge, the choruses even huger, and the song “Generation” goes so far as to channel rap-rock on the way to a karaoke-ready chorus that makes that old Who refrain entirely their cheesy-fun own.
