We recommend you start with Gail Sheehy’s piece, “The Secret of Grey Gardens,” which originally ran in the January 10, 1972, edition of New York. Once you’ve knocked that off, you’ll want to check out her companion piece, which originally ran when Grey Gardens opened on Broadway back in 2006. Lastly, there’s Emily Nussbaum’s review of the made-for-HBO film that stars Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange and airs tomorrow night.
