
The always-cantankerous, impossibly entertaining movie blogger Jeffrey Wells is a fount of classic quotes. Rarely a day goes by where we don’t find ourselves doing a spit take after reading something he wrote. Take, for example, this quote from the introductory graf he wrote about Anvil! The Story Of Anvil: “It’s not that I’ve always loathed metal, although I have. I also think you have to be a bit of a low-life to play it, much less be a fan … right? … Metal, for me, is still the reigning metaphor for the coarsening of civilization.
