After Warner Music’s genius, entirely successful decision to sue and prosecute teenage fans on behalf of its Cribs-flaunting, Bentley-leasing pop stars, the brilliant company has now picked its second-dumbest fight. Yesterday, Warner issued a YouTube takedown notice for a video presentation by first-amendment icon Lawrence Lessig, a Stanford Law professor and the web’s most prominent defender of fair use. We’d say this was a ballsy move — if Warner weren’t about to get smacked down publicly, thereby bolstering Lessig’s cause. Oh yes, Lessig is a-Twittering: “am I fighting it? of course!” [Boing Boing]
