In keeping with the recent epidemic of well-paid movie stars quitting Hollywood, defending Best Actor champion Sean Penn is claiming in private conversations that he’ll take all of next year off to “regroup,” because he “just needs personal time,” according to Nikki Finke. If true, he’ll have to push a few films back, including the Three Stooges movie and Cartel. Not affected, THANK GOD, is Paolo Sorrentino’s This Must Be the Place in which he’s signed on to play a Nazi-hunting rock star. [DHD]
