Honey-voiced crooner turned race-relations expert Harry Connick Jr. has no qualms about accepting all of the praise that he rightfully deserves after decrying a blackface tribute to the Jackson 5 on an Australian sketch show. Reporters in Hong Kong (!) asked Connick about this defining moment, and he casually replied, “I’m pleased with the way I handled the situation.” Us too, Harry, us too. It’s just too bad that the Nobel Peace Prize Committee wasn’t willing to wait one more lousy week to hand out this year’s award. [AP]
