Grown Ups Trailer: Nineties-Era SNL Reunion Leaves Us Missing Chris Farley

On paper, a movie that reunites nineties-era SNL brethren Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider certainly has some potential for hilarity. In practice, however, Grown Ups looks as if it will replace Little Nicky as the worst film Adam Sandler has ever had a starring role in. Unless you’re the kind of person who finds the sight of Rob Schneider kissing a woman a good twenty years older than he is to be pure comic bliss, there is nary a laugh to be had in the course of the one minute and 29 seconds of this trailer, which certainly does not bode well for the rest of the film. And maybe it’s just us, but every time Sandler-posse interloper Kevin James shows up onscreen, we can’t help but feel there’s one key ingredient missing from this film, that ingredient being the late Chris Farley.
