Yesterday the New York Times’ Carpetbagger blog posted excerpts from a Hollywood Reporter video round-table discussion with top filmmakers about studio test screenings and how they mess up their movies. The best part came at the end, when James Cameron’s fellow directors hazed him a bit over his reputation as hard to work with:
Hollywood Reporter: Would it bother any of you if the studios thought of you as a “difficult” director?Mr. Reitman: James?
Mr. Daniels: James?
Mr. Cameron: I was waiting for that. (Laughs.)
