Peter Jackson’s Great Beyond–set thriller The Lovely Bones opens in limited release today after tepid advance reviews, many of which suggest that the film’s vision of the afterlife is quite disappointing. Which got us thinking about movie “heavens”: While some have made death seem like a pleasant destination (Heaven Can Wait, Here Comes Mr. Jordan), the following ten “afterlifes” make passing away seem like even more of a drag than it already is.
