Precious, Last Station Lead Spirit Award Nods

Like you knew they would, Film Independent lavished more attention this morning on Precious with the announcement of the nominees for this year’s Spirit Awards. Among the surprises, though: The Last Station cleaned up with five nods (tying Precious). Gentlemen Broncos’ Jemaine Clement scored a supporting nomination! A Serious Man’s Michael Stuhlbarg and That Evening Sun’s Hal Holbrook were shafted in the lead-actor category in favor of … Adam Scott in something called The Vicious Kind? Also, The Cove, presumed front-runner for the Best Documentary Oscar, was nowhere to be found.
