Late-Night Fights Are a Ratings Boon

Conan O’Brien has finally hit on a strategy to increase ratings — get screwed over by NBC. Last night’s episode of the Tonight Show was watched by 42 percent more people between the ages of 18 and 49 (the only real people) than the previous night’s episode, according to Nielsen data. The Jay Leno Show also experienced a boost, drawing 13 percent more viewers than the night before. Even Jimmy Fallon’s ratings went up! It’s unclear how Last Call With Carson Daly was affected, because Nielsen goes to sleep before it comes on.
