Things we know conclusively about Treme, David Simon’s new HBO show: It’s named after a neighborhood in New Orleans; it’s about jazz musicians living in said neighborhood post-Katrina; it stars The Wire’s Wendell Pierce and Clarke Peters, as well as Steve Zahn and Melissa Leo; it’s pronounced “Trem-ay.” Also, it’s going to be hard-core and gritty and totally great, like The Wire! And we know this because we’ve watched a 47-second trailer that features no dialogue and no actors (no humans at all, actually) and is just a series of shots of sad, abandoned musical instruments. Still — don’t those musical instruments look great?
Update: Treme to premiere April 11th?
