Good news, Weird Al fans: The legendary accordion-wielding song parodist is making his first movie since 1989’s classic UHF! He announced on his blog yesterday that he has a deal with the Cartoon Network to write and direct a new live-action feature film (though, sadly, he won’t star in it). He’s currently on a third draft of the screenplay. It’ll be a comedy whose protagonist “will most likely be teenage,” and he could begin shooting as early as this fall, once his concert tour wraps up. And when the thing inevitably outgrosses Avatar, we may finally get a UHF2.
