Leno: Filming Ad Gave Me Chance to See ‘Old Friend’

Jay Leno and David Letterman took different tacks Monday night in addressing their much-discussed 15-second Super Bowl ad with Oprah Winfrey. Leno tried to play it cool, making super hip Facebook references and joking with his Jay Leno Show audience that filming the ad with Letterman gave him a chance to see “his old friend again”:

“We all watched together. Letterman and I hadn’t seen each other in over 18 years. We lost touch. He found me on Facebook. He made a friend request, I accepted, and we hooked up and watched the game.”

Letterman wasn’t quite so jolly on the Late Show: he thanked “the actors who played Oprah and Jay Leno.”
