‘That’s a Dealbreaker, Ladies’: The Book

Are you still getting over the fact that Dealbreakers — the comical fake dating-advice talk show from 30 Rock built around Liz Lemon’s awesome catchphrase, “That’s a dealbreaker, ladies” — never made it to air? Take some solace in Undateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won’t Be Dating or Having Sex, a comical real dating-advice book out in March that we just came across. Authored by ex-Oprah producer Ellen Rakieten and self-described “tastemaker” Anne Coyle, it’s pretty much Dealbreakers in nonfictional, less-amusing form: While Lemon dealt with hot-button issues like “Should one go camping with Mickey Rourke?” Rakieten and Coyle caution the ladies to stay away from guys with faux-hawks, stupid T-shirts, and soul patches. Still, we’re glad Dealbreakers — which, for the record, we would totally watch if it were actually spun off and had Fey-as-Lemon hosting — lives on. Also, as long as we’re stealing ideas from 30 Rock, can someone whip up a full-length “Werewolf Bar-Mitzvah”?
