NPR’s Linda Holmes read Jennifer Love Hewitt’s new book of dating advice, The Day I Shot Cupid: My Name Is Jennifer Love Hewitt and I’m a Loveaholic, and dished out her top ten favorite (admittedly out-of-context) quotes, like “Guys hate to spoon, they prefer to fork lol!” (Did Jennifer steal that from recent ex Jamie Kennedy’s stand-up act?) And then, mercilessly, there’s this:
“This is embarrassing and personal, but once a month, since I was twelve years old, I go to my favorite jewelry store and try on my dream ring.”
How very Muriel’s Wedding. We’re not sure what dating advice might follow this admission, but considering that another one of Holmes’s favorite quotes from the book is diamond-related, maybe it’s product placement for De Beers.
