Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson of ABBA cited German schmaltz and John Philip Sousa among their band’s influences during their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Waldorf-Astoria on Monday night. Lyngstad also underscored ABBA’s influence on metal when she gave a shout-out to her grandson.
