Shortlist Announced for 1970 Booker Prize

The Booker Prize Foundation, presenters of Britain’s most prestigious book award, have announced a shortlist for the 1970 Booker Prize, which was never presented due to changes in the award calendar in that year. The six books on the list were narrowed down from a list of 21 eligible titles still in print by a group of three judges, each born in or around 1970. Three of the six authors honored with a nomination had never been shortlisted for previous or subsequent books. Better late than never, we guess. [ArtsBeat/NYT]
