Tim Burton to Do a 3-D Addams Family

He’s seen what 3-D Imax ticket prices can do for an opening weekend with his $230 million–earning Alice in Wonderland, and Tim Burton figured he’d charge them again. He’s rebooting The Addams Family in three dimensions and using stop-motion animation for Universal. The film’s look will be inspired by Charles Addams’ original Addams Family cartoons from The New Yorker, and not the sixties Addams Family live-action TV show, either of the two animated series, the movies from the nineties, or the upcoming Broadway musical. No voice-casting has been announced yet, but unless Johnny Depp has something better to do, we assume the part of Gomez is spoken for. [DHD]
