Get excited, Warwick Davis fans! Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant — creators of The Office, Extras, and HBO’s The Ricky Gervais Show — have announced the details of their next TV project, a half-hour comedy pilot for BBC2. Life’s Too Short will feature the three-foot-six-inch Davis (“Britain’s pre-eminent little person actor”), star of Willow and Harry Potter movies, in the lead role: “It’s about his life, the life of a showbiz dwarf,” says Gervais. “He plays himself, [Merchant and I] play ourselves, it’s sort of like Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Also, Gervais gives a preview of the little-person humor we can expect from Short: “We’re having so much fun working with Warwick. Pound for pound he is one of the funniest men I know.” We’re excited to see Davis make a Larry David–style scene in a coffee shop, but we don’t imagine he’ll be tripping any basketball players.
