Since Mindy Kaling is not busy enough writing episodes of The Office, movie scripts and her Twitter, playing Kelly Kapoor, and developing a pilot for NBC, she has gone and scored herself a book deal. Crown will publish Kaling’s The Contents of My Purse in fall of 2011, describing the book as a mash-up of Love, Loss and I What Wore and Kaling’s lovable, defunct blog Things I’ve Bought That I Love. Kaling, however, is not so sure what the book will be about: “I’ll just turn it into a Jon Krakauer piece about murder in Siberia and perilous adventure. I don’t want to be boxed in.” [ArtsBeat/NYT]
