Back in December, Apple paid $80 million to purchase the music-streaming site Lala and now it has sentenced it to death. The five-year-old site will be shut down at the end of month when users’ account balances will be transferred to iTunes. Rumor has it that Apple will use Lala’s technology to launch its own cloud-based music service. [LAT]
