According to Deadline’s Nikki Finke and Mike Fleming, the Weinstein brothers’ Ron Burkle–backed deal to retake the Miramax name and library back from Disney is complete and will be announced at the Cannes Film Festival, which starts on Wednesday. The Weinsteins say negotiations are still ongoing, which definitely sounds like something someone who wanted to wait until Cannes to make an announcement might say. [Deadline]
