Was Nicollette Sheridan Abused, or Lightly Tapped on the Head?

In April, Nicolette Sheridan, the former Desperate Housewife, filed a $20 million lawsuit against the show’s creator, Marc Cherry, alleging he hit her (because she is a straight woman), and then wrongfully terminated her. At the time, ABC countered that they had “investigated similar claims last year by Ms. Sheridan and found them to be without merit.” Now Sheridan’s lawyer’s have amended her complaint, adding that the aforementioned ABC investigation specifically found that “Marc [Cherry] simply gave her a light tap on the side of her head for the sole purpose of providing direction for a scene they were rehearsing.” It’s unclear exactly why Sheridan’s lawyers would want ABC’s uncritical take of the incident included in the lawsuit — we can only assume they think it shows how condescendingly dismissive ABC was. That, or they really don’t want Sheridan to win her case. [Esq./HR]
