Mike Fleming reports that Charles Grodin — who mostly quit acting in 1994 to spend more time with his family and advocate for the wrongfully imprisoned — might return to show business for the upcoming sequel to Midnight Run, in which he would reprise his role from the 1988 original as bail-skipping embezzler Jonathan “the Duke” Mardukas. And he may be open to more roles, provided they’d allow him to spend nights in his Connecticut home. You can probably expect to hear rumors about him playing Batman villains any minute now.
