Caving to the immense pressure to make a ton of money, Coldplay has granted Glee access to their entire catalogue. The band had initially turned down Glee creator Ryan Murphy’s request for their songs, but changed their mind in the face of the cultural phenomenon’s lock grip on the iTunes chart, leaving Bryan Adams as the only extant Glee resistor. (Kurt, you will never get your vocal cords on “Heaven”!) In hindsight, Lea Michele’s Tony gown may have been worn as evidence, for Chris Martin and Co., that the cast could be trusted to pull off a tasteful treatment of “Yellow.” [Billboard]
