It appears that the duel between the two planned Three Musketeers films - one from Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity), the other from Paul W.S. Anderson (Death Race) - may be over before it even gets started. As Anderson has moved forward with his 3D film for Summit, casting Orlando Bloom and Milla Jovovich among others, Deadline is reporting that Liman
is circling a different film: All You Need Is Kill, an adaptation of the Hiroshi Sakurazaka novel about a soldier who battles an alien species. The director is meeting with Warner Bros. this week and Deadline says their Musketeers project may be killed or postponed. Makes sense, we wouldn’t want to have to compete with the combination of 3D and Orlando Bloom either.
