Apparently, it’s Zach Galifianakis trailer day today! After playing it moderately straight in It’s Kind of a Funny Story, Galifianakis is back in high-energy form in Due Date, a Galifianakis–Robert Downey Jr. buddy comedy directed by The Hangover’s Todd Phillips. Downey Jr. plays the straight man, rushing across the country to be at his child’s birth while saddled with the overgrown man-child played by Galifianakis, who is allergic to waffles, wears a scarf, shoots guns off by accident, and says things like, “You better check yourself before you wreck yourself.” Jamie Foxx is here as well, as is Downey Jr. saying the phrase “Imma choke you out,” over and over again, in a likely successful effort to make that a thing people say.
