Hugh Laurie, the British actor who plays the genius doctor, high-level crank, and musically competent House on House, will record an album of “New Orleans-inspired blues.” Laurie is savvy enough to have started self-deprecating already, saying, “I know the history of actors making music is a checkered one, but I promise no one will get hurt.” No word yet on whether one of the songs will be about the blues of one particularly curmudgeonly pill popper with chronic leg pain.
