French first lady Carla Bruni has a cameo in Woody Allen’s currently filming Midnight in Paris, for which she walks into a grocery store, and then walks out with a baguette. Yet somehow, it reportedly took her 35 takes to get it right, while — if the photographic evidence is to be (plausibly!) editorialized — Allen got more and more exasperated. The problem was that Bruni kept staring directly at the camera, either unable to forget her model training or having learned everything she knows about acting from The Office.
