Contest: Win a Mockingjay Book and iPod

Tonight at midnight, Mockingjay — the much-anticipated third and final book in The Hunger Games trilogy, a YA series set in a dystopian future starring the ass-kicking Katniss Everdeen — goes on sale. (You can read an early review of the heavily embargoed title here.) For those of you as yet unfamiliar with the books, which will soon be turned into a film franchise, remember that not so long ago — between one and a half to five years, depending on whether you are a teenage girl, a woman who loves books for teenage girls, a person who loves anything with vampires, or how closely related to any of the aforementioned categories of person you are — you had never heard of Twilight. For those who are familiar with the series, and those who want to get a jump start on the inevitable, we have a contest! Vulture is giving away a copy of Mockingjay and an iPod Touch engraved with the Mockingjay logo to the two people who write us the best Hunger Games–inspired haiku (a poem of five, seven, and five syllables). Post your haiku in the comments between now and Wednesday at 8 p.m. and we’ll pick the two best ones. Extra consideration will be given to haikus written in support of Team Peeta or Team Gale (the future Team Edward, Team Jacob). Good Luck!
