Tilda Swinton’s I Am Love Snubbed for Foreign Film Oscar

Apparently, there is something Tilda Swinton can’t do: win over Italy. Despite the fact that the Swinton-starring I Am Love scored as one of this year’s art-house hits, the Italian-language drama won’t be Italy’s submission for the Best Foreign Film Oscar; instead, the country has chosen Paolo Virzi’s dramedy The First Beautiful Thing, which we presume is comparably lacking when it comes to architectural porn, fabulous Swinton outfits, and orgasmic reactions to prawn-eating. For shame. [24 Frames/LAT]
