James Franco’s Next Project Will Tackle ADD, S&M

With an unlikely career that hopscotches between motion pictures, soap operas, short films, and several academic programs, it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that James Franco can relate to the scattered focus that afflicted Stephen Elliott during the writing of his 2009 memoir The Adderall Diaries. Deadline is reporting that Franco has picked up the film rights to the book and plans to write, direct, and star as Elliott, an ADD-addled writer who was covering a 2007 murder trial when the defendant’s friend (whom Elliott had met through San Francisco’s S&M underground) confessed to still more murders. Let’s just hope that Franco can continue to wring some alone time out of what promises to be a period of insane multitasking. [Deadline]
