Songwriter Kara DioGuardi is stepping down from her role as a judge on American Idol, Fox announced in a press release last night. “I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave,” DioGuardi said in a statement. “I am very proud to have been associated with Idol. All the best to everyone on Season 10!” Idol executive producer Ken Warwick added: “It has been a joy working with [DioGuardi] on Idol for the past two seasons, and I’m looking forward to seeing what she does next.” With Jennifer Lopez reportedly inking a deal to join the show, it’s a regular revolving door over there.
