Kristen Bell Has Not Given Up On Veronica Mars Movie

Ever since the final episode of cult hit Veronica Mars aired in 2007, rumors of a potential movie have lingered on the internet, mostly fueled by wishful thinking by hopeful fans. In 2009, show creator Rob Thomas pitched the project, but Warner Bros. took a pass, all but killing the prospect of seeing the snarky sleuth on the big screen. But Thursday night, star Kristen Bell was apparently feeling nostalgic for the series, as she turned to the tactic du jour and attempted to spur an internet campaign directed at Warner Bros. Bell tweeted: “mars fans-can we bug @wbpictures & tell em the must do a VM film?? new tactic. bombard em w/tweets, theres evidence of fans they cant ignore… #veronicamars fans send petitions & any obsessive behaior u have 2 @wbpictures & demand the film. they c no audience 4 it? i beg 2 differ.” Hundreds of retweets later, there is now a Facebook group with over 14,000 members and a petition with close to 8,000 signatures in favor of the film. Warner Bros., you’d be wise to listen to Bell; if we’ve learned anything from Veronica, it’s that this is one heroine who’s not going to quit until she gets what she wants.
