Bell, who has repeatedly expressed her enthusiasm about making a Veronica Mars movie happen, is now willing to literally put her money where her mouth is. The 30-year-old actress told The Hollywood Reporter she “absolutely would” finance a Mars movie herself. The only hitch? Warner Bros. needs to release the property. “It’s a business and the sad truth is that … they’re not going to relinquish the rights to something and let us do it,” Bell explained. “We really have to do it with them because they own it.” Bell went on to declare: “So my duty, because I wanted this movie made from the minute our show got canceled, is to a) do it before I’m 40; and b) to prove to Warner Bros. that there is an audience.” Come on, Warner Bros., this doesn’t sound like a woman who is going to be giving up anytime soon.
