Wes Anderson’s Making a New Movie, with Tweenagers

Production Weekly brings word that Wes Anderson will begin shooting a live-action movie this spring, his first since 2007’s Darjeeling Limited. (The animated Fantastic Mr. Fox came out last year.) Anderson was known to be developing a script for a film called My Best Friend, “about an unlikable, selfish guy hires someone to pose as his best friend in order to win a bet,” but the Playlist is reporting that this is a different project, as Anderson is looking to cast a boy and a girl, each 12-years-old, in the lead roles. So basically, Anderson’s remaking Super 8? Probably with fewer aliens and more corduroy though. [Playlist]
