Todd McCarthy, let go by Variety as its chief film critic seven months ago during a round of cost-saving cuts, will now serve as the chief film critic for the “revamped” Hollywood Reporter. McCarthy had joined the IndieWire blog network in April, launching the website “Todd McCarthy’s Deep Focus,” but will be leaving them behind for the new gig. “The Reporter’s making a big splash right now,” McCarthey said, adding, “Trades are what I’m versed in.” [Media Decoder/NYT]
