We found out this week that Rhys Ifans would play the villain in Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot, but not until today did we learn who that baddie would be. According to The Wrap, Ifans will play The Lizard, a scaly adversary who never technically appeared in Sam Raimi’s first three films (though Dylan Baker did play the Lizard’s pre-transformation alter ego, the mild-mannered Dr. Curt Connors). Will Ifans don a motion-capture suit to nail his character’s reptilian transformation, or will the filmmakers concoct some sort of human-lizard hybrid look at the risk of skirting too close to Dennis Hopper as King Koopa in the Super Mario Bros. movie?
