The Black Eyed Peas Are Getting Sued for Stealing Music Again

Earlier this year, an unsigned artist named Phoenix Phenom alleged that the Black Eyed Peas stole “Boom Boom Pow” from her song “Boom Dynamite.” Now the same lawyers representing Miss Phenom have found another possible case of copyright infringement: Bryan Pringle, who had been sending demos to Interscope Records, UMG Recordings, and EMI for a decade, says his song “Take a Dive” (unfortunately unavailable on the Internet for comparison) was copied on “I Gotta Feeling.” The law firm’s statement alleges that the Black Eyed Peas and their label engaged in “a pattern and practice of intentional copyright infringement with respect to the unlawful copying of songs of unknown or lesser-known artists.” We sort of believe it: The new BEP single totally rips off Jennifer Grey.
