The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement shut down a number of popular file-sharing sites over the holiday weekend, including the BitTorrent tracker TorrentFreak. It’s presently unclear exactly why the DHS would take an interest in stamping out copyright infringement. Could it be that terrorist cells are communicating with one another using pirated Kanye West MP3s and ripped episodes of Boardwalk Empire?
