Consider it last-minute temptation. Though Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 begins screening for the first time at late shows tomorrow night, plenty of it just became available for viewing online. The first 36 minutes of the film have made their way onto torrent sites; though some online speculation has it that the leak was intentionally planned to maximize publicity, a Warner Bros. rep says the studio is “vigorously investigating this matter and will prosecute those involved to the full extent of the law.” Then again, if WB is really concerned that too much footage has already been released from the movie, maybe they should go after their own marketing department first?
