The legal problems surrounding the cover of Vampire Weekend’s album Contra have taken a strange new turn. As reported over the summer, Ann Kirsten Kennis, the model who appears on the sleeve, is suing the band and the photographer Tod Brody — whom she claims never to have met — for using her image. However, Brody has gone missing, and the court has resorted to subpoenaing him via e-mail. If you happen to know Mr. Brody, you should probably tell him to check his Gmail. [Sound of the City/VV]
