In “news you guessed, but you’re happy to have confirmed,” Peter Jackson has announced that he’s secured Cate Blanchett to reprise her Lord of the Rings role as Galadriel for his upcoming take on The Hobbit. (Also, Jackson says he just cast relative unknowns Ken Stott, Sylvester McCoy, Mikael Persbrandt, Ryan Gage, Jed Brophy, and William Kircher as various wizards and dwarves, and yes, those people definitely have wizardy, dwarfy names.
