Now Famous People Are Suing the Black Eyed Peas for Stealing Music

Following in the tradition of Phoenix Phenom and Bryan Pringle — unsigned artists who claim the Black Eyed Peas lifted chunks of their music for the hits “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling,” respectively — is a new lawsuit from George Clinton. This one’s more clear-cut: The Black Eyed Peas never cleared a sample of “(Not Just) Knee Deep” (the track has been sampled a bunch, but is probably best known for De La Soul’s “Me, Myself, and I”) that was used in a remix of their song “Shut Up.” Will.I.Am, don’t even try to blame this on apl.de.ap.
