The 1977 performance of “Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth” by David Bowie and Bing Crosby, done just a year before Crosby’s death, is a Christmas classic. Which I suppose is why both CollegeHumor and Funny or Die created very faithful remakes of it, each with different comedy bigshots.
Last week, CollegeHumor released an animated version of the duet, sung by Jason Segel and Jack Black. Now, Funny or Die has released a remake of the video featuring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. Both are surprisingly true to the source material and not stuffed with jokes, despite the different takes and different people involved. The original is up top, and here are both remakes:
