The first teaser trailer for Battle: Los Angeles suggested that the forthcoming, world-devastating alien invasion would go down to moody, melancholic slo-mo Auto-Tune, and thus possibly be a serious, even semi-realistic world-devastating alien invasion. But the second teaser trailer for the film clears that right up. Without the Auto-Tune, Battle: Los Angeles’s true nature is revealed: It’s Independence Day with better special effects, less Will Smith. None of the movie’s lead actors — Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan — appear for more than a few seconds here, but who really needs actors to sell a concept like this?
