The title of Top Serious Nerdy Young Hollywood Actor (currently held by Jesse Eisenberg) was Paul Dano’s for the taking after There Will Be Blood. But Dano has instead pumped the brakes a bit since then, starring in a few indies and popping up in small roles in a few blockbusters; his most noted part may have been as one of the voices in Where the Wild Things Are. Could Another Night — an adaptation of Another Bullshit Night in Suck City, Nick Flynn’s excellent memoir about reuniting with his homeless father — be that next high-profile project? Robert De Niro is playing the father, so maybe? Then again, director Paul Weitz is on board as well — they’re two main elements of the team that just made Little Fockers. [Variety]
