At last, Julie Taymor’s troubled Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has a dramatic new ending. The new finale features a newly choreographed flying sequence with a triumphant Spider-Man. The finale change comes after some audience members complained that the show’s current ending — featuring Spidey and girlfriend Mary Jane in a romantic embrace — was only so-so. Now, says show spokesman Rick Miramontez, Spidey will have “an airborne finale moment that will be familiar to Spider-Man fans around the world.” But just because the ending has been sussed out doesn’t mean the show will open any sooner: The show still needs more time to fix additional problems.
