Big news today on the Alien prequel … well, make that the “Alien-inspired original film now called Prometheus.” That’s right: Though Ridley Scott tells Deadline that “the keen fan will recognize strands of Alien’s DNA [in the new film],” Scott and writer Damon Lindelof were inspired enough by their work on the script to make the new film’s universe its own. As Vulture already reported, Scott has picked Noomi Rapace to star in Prometheus, and now Angelina Jolie is also circling the part that Charlize Theron is interested in.
